Distinctive Mid Century Asheville Homes

Mid Century Modern Asheville Highlights of 2022

2022 was an interesting and action-packed year in Asheville real estate. We continued to see a seller’s market driven by lack of inventory and high buyer demand.

Despite the lack of inventory there were some stunning MCM homes that hit the Asheville market in 2022. All went under contract quickly and sold for over asking price in most cases. Here are a few of note:

In Grove Park:

Modern Chalet nestled in the woods with year-round mountain views designed by local modernist architect William O. Moore.

Built in 1951, famed MCM architect, Bert King’s personal Grove Park home where he lived and worked throughout his lifetime.

In Beaverdam:

This Bert King “inspired” MCM design features a stone and wood exterior, natural landscaping, large windows and vaulted ceilings.

In Biltmore Forest:

Designed by Lawrence “Larry” Traber in 1965. This home has all the classic MCM features.

Architecturally stunning Larry Traber-designed 1966 mid-century modern home in a beautifully landscaped and private Biltmore Forest setting.

Woodland Hills:

1964 Ranch with with stone accents. This has always been one of my favorite homes in Woodland Hills. I love the way it is nestled with its surroundings.

Also in Woodland Hills, beautifully renovated 1964 MCM Ranch with a Screened Porch

I’d love to help you buy or sell a mid century modern home in 2023. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
